Molly Resnick, a writer and pro-
ducer formerly with NBC-TV,
will address her change of life-
style from secular to traditional
at a dinner meeting of the Jew-
ish Federation Business and
Professional Women's Division
6 p.m. Jan. 12 at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
At NBC, where she worked
for 12 years, Ms. Resnick cov-
ered major figures, including
Israeli Prime Ministers Me-
nachem Begin and Yitzhak
Rabin, Henry Kissinger, Moshe
Dayan, Bette Davis, Sean Con-
nery and Doctor Spock.
Mrs. Resnick, who speaks
seven languages, was born in
Bulgaria and grew up in Israel.
She began following a tradi-
tional life style while in sab-
batical from NBC.
She is committed to both her
religion and career, combining
them by producing films for
Jewish education. Her latest
project is Closeups in Courage,
a film about Chasidic women in
contemporary America.
There will be no solicitation
of gifts to the Allied Jewish
Campaign at the dinner meet-
ing. Registration will begin at
6 p.m. and the dinner and pro-
gram at 6:30 p.m.
There is a charge for the
gathering. For reservations by

YI-Greenfield
Holds Brunch

The sisterhood of the Young Is-
rael of Greenfield will hold a
membership brunch 11 a.m.
Jan. 9 at the synagogue, 15140
West Ten Mile Road, Oak Park.
The speaker will be Mrs. use
Roberg, educator, calligrapher
and artist. Her presentation is
titled "A Special Window."
At the brunch, the officers
and board members will be in-
troduced. Also, the recipes for
the desserts served at the
Chanukah Boutique will be giv-
en out.

Topical Films

The Young Adult Division of the
Jewish Federation is hosting
a series of topical, internation-
al films, beginning with The
Power of One, Jan. 6 at the
Birmingham Temple.
The 7:15 p.m. movie explores
race relations in South Africa.
For Shasha, a coming-of-age
story of three Frenchmen who
travel to Israel in search of a
childhood friend, will be shown
Feb. 3 at Oakland Communi-
ty College's Orchard Ridge
Campus in Farmington Hills.
The series will conclude with
The Jungle Book on March 13.
There is no admission for chil-
dren to the 1 p.m. showing at
the Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center.

Phonathon Set
For Jan. 9

Young men and women, mar-
ried and single, are invited to
join Jewish Federation Young
Adult Division volunteers in
reaching out to hundreds of De-
troiters at a phonathon on be-
half of the Allied Jewish
Campaign 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan.
9 at the Max M. Fisher Build-
ing.
The phonathon will address
the needs of many recently un-
employed people, seniors and
others at risk who look at Fed-
eration's helping agencies for
assistance. The Campaign also
helps Israel resettle the hun-
dreds of thousands of Jews who
continue to leave the former So-
viet Union.
Food and refreshments will
be available at the phonathon
and babysitting will be avail-
able.

tion about the Allied Jewish
