The Grievance Commission,
which investigates allegations
of attorney misconduct, files cas-
es with the Attorney Discipline
Board if the commission be-
lieves the complaint warrants
a public discipline proceeding.
The Attorney Discipline
Board can either dismiss the
charges against Mr. Beer, rep-
rimand him, suspend him for a
given amount of time or revoke
his law license.
The board is expected to hear
from Mr. Beer on Feb. 18.

Aside from practicing law,
Mr. Dickman spends about 15
hours a week donating his time,
mostly through Temple Israel's
social action committee. He also
volunteers at Salvation Army
and the Jewish Community
Council.
Mr. Dickman's reasons for
volunteering go much further
than his religion. Born to a
Christian family, he was adopt-
ed by Jews as an infant.
"Knowing this from an early
age, I felt that had I not had the
wonderful upbringing given to
me, I may have been some-
where else. So, I have a need to
reach out to the less fortunate,"
he said.
