Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamil-
ton and Paul Wylie will head-
line a cast of Olympians in the
Discover Card Stars on Ice at
the Palace of Auburn Hills Jan.
28 at 8 pm.
Tickets are on sale at all Tick-
etmaster centers.
Yamaguchi, 1992 Olympic
gold medalist; Hamilton, 1984
Olympic champion and four-
time World champion; and
Wylie, 1992 Olympic silver
medalist, will join a cast in-
cluding two-time Olympic sil-
ver medalist Brian Orser, 1984
Olympic silver medalist Ros-
alynn Sumners, 1984 Olympic
silver medalists Kitty and Pe-
ter Carruthers, Canadian pair
champions and Olympic team
members Christine Hough and
Doug Ladret.
For the fifth consecutive year,
the official charity for the Dis-
cover Card Stars on Ice will be
the Make-A-Wish Foundation
of America. One dollar from
each ticket purchased with a
Discover Card for this show will
be donated to the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Michigan.
Prentis Federation Apartments
will host an After New Year's
Bash 7:30-10:30 p.m. Jan. 2.
Entertainment will be provid-
ed by local musician Neil
Alexander and the Klezmer Fu-
sion Band.
The band bridges the Old
World and New World. It con-
sists of vocalist, guitarist and
trumpeter Neil Alexander
joined by klezmer and classical
clarinetist Ralph Katz, and
member of the Detroit Balalai-
ka Orchestra, mandolin/bal-
alaika/guitar player and vocalist
Nan Nelson. The rhythm sec-
tion includes Don Prior, drum-
mer, and two local jazz players,
bassist David Stearns and key-
boardist Mark Kieswetter.

Beth Hayeled Nursery School
will offer two more parent-
toddler programs beginning in
January. The first will be a Fri-
day morning class at the Eu-
gene and Marcia Applebaum

10 a.m. and will be taught by
Carol Walker. Also offered will
be an evening parent-toddler
class for moms or dads and
