MICHELLE BERRIS, stu-
dents at West Bloomfield High
School, were chosen to be
among area high school stu-
dents who walked in the Hon-
or Corps of the Detroit
Thanksgiving Day Parade.

JESSICA SHATZMAN, 10, of
West Bloomfield, is one of two
students in Michigan who was
awarded the Dream-Makers
Award by Binney-Smith, the
makers of Crayola crayons. She
created a picture using poster
paints which was submitted by
her teacher. Her artwork was
displayed at the University of
Nebraska during October, and
will be exhibited at Northern
Illinois University and the Uni-
versity of Wisconsin this winter
and spring. Jessica is a fifth-
grade student at Green School.

Meeting Set

STYLE is Detroit's magazine for smart living, and that
includes planning for that special day. A full issue
featuring everything from gowns to gifts, flowers to honeymoons.

SETH STERN, son of Mona
and Dennis Stern, received a
Youth Appreciation Award
frum the Optimist Club of Birm-
ingham. Seth is in 7th grade at
Berkshire Middle School, Birm-
ingham.

The Jewish Community Center
with Nancy Gurwin will pre-
sent Broadway On Tour, a con-
tinuing workshop specifically
designed to develop and
strengthen the talent and skills
of individuals with special
needs. The student will devel-
op a character to be performed
over a number of class periods,
developing voice, diction and
dramatization. All students will
perform in a one-act play at the
end of the workshop and will
take their show on the road to
various Jewish agencies.
The workshop will be held on
Wednesday evenings for eight
weeks, from 7-8:30 p.m., begin-
ning Jan. 5 at Maple-Drake.
There is a charge.
