Michigan Region B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization will hold
its annual regional convention
Dec. 26-30 at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center.
This year's theme is "BBYO's
Greatest Hits." In addition to
National BBYO contests such
as newspaper, oratory, story-
telling and video, the chapters
will compete in traditional con-
tests such as quiz bowl, song,
cheer, banner, T-shirt/sweat-
shirt, literature, art, handicraft
and photography.
Sports competition will in-
clude AZA basketball, BBG vol-
leyball, bowling, ping pong and
the new indoor track competi-
tion. The evening programs will
feature a "messy dance," talent
show and a dressy dance.
For community service, a
Peanut Butter and Jelly-athon
will be held in which all sand-
wiches made by convention del-
egates will be donated to a local
soup kitchen to help feed the
homeless.

Service Center, 788-0700.
Michigan Region AZA Bas-
ketball League will begin Jan.
23 and be held on Sunday af-
ternoons at 3 p.m. at Maple-
Drake. Matt Hildebrandt of
Samson AZA is the 1994 league
coordinator. The league is open
to all AZA members. Each team
registering must submit a de-
posit by Dec. 13 to the BBYO
Chapter Service Center.
Michigan Region BBYO will
host the Interregional Conven-
tion, March 4-6.
Tenn Connection will spend
an afternoon at U.S. Blades lo-
cated on Drake Road just south
of Walnut Lake in West Bloom-
field. The outing will be held
Dec. 19 from 12:45-4 p.m. The
event is open to Teen Connec-
tion members and first-time
guests. There is a charge. For

Hebrew Club
At Berkley

Due to the success of the South-
field-Lathrup High School He-
brew Club, NCSY has
expanded into Berkley High
School.
During lunch every other
week, students will attend
meetings and discuss Jewish is-
sues. Topics include Jewish cul-
ture, history, language and
current events.
complimentary lunch is in-
cluded and there is no charge.
