Fund-Raiser
Revolution: A Gallery Project
will host a fund-raiser to bene-
fit "Watch Me Grow" a program
through Common Ground and
a new pilot program at the De-
troit Institute of Arts.
Join local artist Christina
Bechstein Dec. 14-Jan. 5 in
transforming the gallery's in-
terior space into a fantastic
garden.
"Watch Me Grow" is a pro-
gram designed to develop self
esteem in Ferndale and Roy-
al Oak elementary aged
school children who have
been identified as 'at risk.'
The Detroit Institute of Arts
education department has be-
gun a pilot program in con-
junction with Wayne County
Family Center. Using art as
a tool, this program will teach
homeless people aged 18 to 26
the cognitive skills necessary
for survival in the work place.
Revolution: A Gallery Pro-
ject is located at 23257 Wood-
ward Ave., south of 1-696 in
Ferndale. Hours for this pro-
ject are Tuesday-Saturday 10
a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday
evenings until 8 p.m. and
Sunday noon-4 p.m. For in-
formation call 541-3444.
