challenge to the Round Table.
Its budget this fiscal year is
$370,000.
"It's always hard to be effi-
cient with the money we have
and choosing which programs
get the most emphasis," Mr. Ar-
cand said.
On Dec. 6, at the Westin Ho-
tel, the Round Table will honor
Arthur Johnson, vice president
of university relations at Wayne
State University and immedi-
ate past president of the
NAACP, and Robert Mylod,
president, chairman and CEO
of Michigan National Bank,
during its largest fund-raiser of
the year.

overnight, but with our kids we
are beginning to make an im-
pact," Mr. Arcand said.
Another link is the Interfaith
Steering Committee. It works
to establish forums for Christ-
ian, Jewish and Muslim lead-
ers to discuss broad issues of
religious and social concern.
Other Round Table programs
includes a women's division, a
Holy Strokes golf fund-raiser
and a one-hour radio talk show
on WCAR. The Round Table
also promotes police-communi-
ty relations in Detroit through
monthly meetings with police
and citizens.

songwriter Howard Arlen.
