The League of Jewish Women's
Organizations has applications
available for its 49th annual
youth awards for high school
students.
To qualify, the applicant
must be a high school senior,
with at least a 3.0 grade point
average; have a formal Jew-
ish education; be actively in-
volved in the community; and
submit a one-page typed es-
say on the subject "How Do
You Intend To Maintain Jew-
ish Identity During Your Col-
lege Years, and, Why Is This
Important To You?" Once
qualified, an applicant will be
interviewed by a panel of
judges.
The application and essay
must be received no later
than Jan. 5. For information,

Emanu-El Youth
Plan Events
The junior youth group of Tem-
ple Emanu-El will hold its an-
nual pizza-bowling party Dec.
5. Members of JETS will meet
at the Temple at 11:30 a.m. and
will carpool to the bowling al-
ley.
On Dec. 11 Temple
Emanu-El's senior youth
group will host a Chanukah
party.

Rabbi Lane Steinger will tell
"The Real Story of Chanukah"
Dec. 11 at Temple Emanu-El's
Young Family Shabbat Service.
This service, designed for chil-
dren ages 2-7 and their fami-
lies, will begin at 10:15 a.m.
Children whose birthdays
occur in December will be
blessed by Rabbi Steinger
and will receive a small gift.
