She is presently vice pres- ident of the International Coun- cil of Jewish Women and an executive member of the Inter- national council of Women. Educators Plan Institute The Institute on Judaism sponsored by Temple Israel Sis- terhood will be held Dec. 8 at the temple. This all-day semi- nar will provide educators an opportunity to better under- stand their Jewish students and the rituals and symbols of faith. Rabbis M. Robert Syme, Harold Loss and Paul Yedwab will conduct workshops and will provide a question-and-answer period at the end of the day. The keynote speaker will be Rabbi Daniel B. Syme, the vice president of the Union of Amer- ican Hebrew Congregations. Family Camp At Butzel Tamarack Camps will offer a New Year Family Camp Dec. 30-Jan. 2 at Butzel Conference Center in northern Oakland County. The event is intended for children and parents and in- cludes a New Year's party with Benny and the Jets band, a square dance with Cowboy Ari- zona, seasonal outdoor activi- ties, talent show, hay rides, crafts, and evening activities for adults. Assisted Suicide Panel Set The Adult Study Commission and the Men's Club of Adat Shalom Synagogue will present a panel discussion to explore "Jewish Perspectives on As- sisted Suicide." 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the synagogue. The three panelists, repre- senting a variety of Jewish in- stitutions, who will offer their own personal views on this is- sue, are Rabbi Martin Berman, Congregation Beth Achim; Rab- bi E.B. Freedman, director of planning, Hospice of South- eastern Michigan; and Dr. Marc Dunn, director of Critical Care, Sinai Hospital. Rabbi Efry Spectre of Adat Shalom Synagogue will moder- ate the discussion. Panelists will respond to questions from the audience. The program is open to the community. Coffee will be served. There is no charge. Adat Shalom Theater Party The sisterhood of Adat Shalom will sponsor a theater party Dec. 11 to see The Price, by Arthur Miller, produced by the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. The performance, which begins at 8 p.m., will take place at the Maple-Drake Jewish Community Center. Following the show, partici- pants are invited to a dessert afterglow. Playgoers also will have the opportunity to view "The Artist & The Quilt," an exhibition of contemporary quilts in the Janice Charach Epstein Museum/Gallery. There is a charge.
