DYSAUTONOMIA THE DIRECTION 0 THE FUTURE Fannie Cooper Fannie Milgrom Cooper, 100, of Southfield, died Nov. 22. She was born in Poland, came to America and was married in 1920 to Max Milgrom. She took her husband's place in the fami- ly paint business at his death in 1933. In 1936, she married her second cousin, Meyer Cooper. She was a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. She was committed to many causes, including the Jewish National Fund, the Leader Dogs for the Blind and the hear- ing impaired. She was a life member of the Women of Jewish National Fund, Hadassah, the Jewish Home for Aged, United Hebrew Schools, Home Relief Society, Denver League Auxiliary and Bar-flan University. Also, she was a member of the American Jewish Congress, Sinai Hospital,Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood and the National Council of Jewish Women. She leaves her husband, Meyer; daughter and son-in- law, Lillian and Jack W. Pearlman of Southfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Thelma Milgrom of Franklin, Myron and Jackie Milgrom of Southfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grand- children. Oscar Janowsky New York (JTA) — Oscar Janowsky, 93, a historian and Jewish cultural and educational leader in the United States, died Nov. 4 in Princeton, N.J. He was the author of nu- merous books on Jewish issues and minority rights. In 1935, Mr. Janowsky was a special adviser to the League of Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. He was a former chairman and director of the Commission for the Study of Jewish Educa- tion, as well as a member of the Commission to Study the Or- ganization of Peace. From 1946 to 1947, Mr. Janowsky was director of the Jewish Welfare Board Survey, for which he prepared the JWS Report. The study, which was called the "Janowsky Report," influenced the activities of Jew- ish community centers. He was chairman of the Commission for the Study of Jewish Education in the U.S. from 1952 to 1957. In 1953, the National Jewish Welfare Board gave Mr. Janowsky its Frank L. Weil Award. Mr. Janowsky was director of graduate studies in liberal arts and science at City College of New York in the 1950s.
