The 11:30 a.m. meeting, which will feature Edward Schnee, who assisted in the rescue from cults and depro- gramming of his two sons, is sponsored by the Jewish Fed- eration Women's Division. As the founding member and the director of both the American Family Foundation and the Cult Awareness Net- work, Mr. Schnee has con- ducted research to explore the reasons that make young Jews vulnerable to the appeal of cults and lectures to raise awareness. Mr. Schnee, who operates an agency specializing in in- ternational designs for the home, is a civic affairs plan- ner and activist in Detroit's downtown business commu- nity. Food for Thought, which is lead by Diane Orley, chair- person, and Lori Brode Garon, associate chairperson, is a forum to educate the par- ticipants on important Jew- ish issues and to reach out to women not yet involved in Federation's Women's Divi- sion.
