cott Leshman's first se-
mester in college isn't
everything he wanted
it to be. It hasn't been
bad, mind you, but he didn't
get his first varsity goal.
Leshman, a graduate of
Bloomfield Hills Andover and
captain last year of its soccer
team, was one of four fresh-
men this fall playing for
Western Michigan Universi-
ty. The Broncos finished their
season at 10-8 on
Oct. 31 with a 3-2 overtime
loss to the University of Day-
ton.
WMU Coach Blake Glass
said Leshman played spar-
ingly in the first half of the sea-
son, but got more playing time
in the second half. "He was sub-
bing in at midfield and on de-
fense," Glass said.
The 5'10" 150-pound Lesh-
man scored nine goals during
his senior year at Andover
while playing the defensive
sweeper position and was
named All-State honorable
mention, all area, all league
and team most valuable
player. ❑
