room was once the beautiful
great room of an auto baron's
Grosse Pointe mansion, sheer
elegance, and the true concept
of Chuck Muer seafood cuisine
is highly exemplified here. But
don't think for a moment that
this is all, just seafood. Charley's
Crab's menu, although highly
fish oriented, also includes dish-
es to delight other palates.

another of those "sleeper' types
of Italian restaurants you hear
about, as authentic as its own-
er, Sicilian-born Franco Gior-
lando. Wife, Anna Maria, can

co makes but concentrates on

This is the Chung's ownership
that has been serving Detroi-
ters and visitors for over 50
years. It's second place, in Wa-
terford, also features authentic
chef's specialties that include
traditional Cantonese, Szechuan
and Hunan cuisine. It is open

private dining room for ban-
quets, parties and business
meetings.
WEST BLOOMFIELD

newest Chinese restaurants to
open within the past year, Gold-
en Phoenix had previously been
a long-time favorite on Maple

Italian restaurant might be
called 'The Flagship" of the Va-
lente dining stable (La Suna

tainly is the oldest of the three,
starting out years back as just
a little carry-out pizza place and
developing into a very popular
Italian gourmet-style operation.

di Maria is open seven days a

Bloomfield, 851-6400. Known
for many years as a fine Chi-
nese restaurant, Rikshaw is
equally proud of its continental
cuisine that gives it the conno-
tation for gourmet dining with-
out paying big prices. Caesar
salads, lobster, rack of Iamb,
etc. are among the elegant
