ChuckJoseph's, 2555 Twelve
Mile Rd., Berkley, 399-6750. 25
years ago, Chuck and Dorothy
Joseph opened their popular
restaurant at that time on Grand
River, featuring steaks and
chops. Chuck passed away and
Dorothy has been the sole own-
er and operator in carrying on
the fine quality tradition she
and Chuck maintained for din-
ing goodness. However, today
it is much more than steaks and
chops, with seafood, chicken
and sandwiches being wanted
items on its menu.

Kingsley Inn, 1475 North
Woodward, Bloomfield Hills,
642-0100. The historical back-
ground of Kingsley Inn is such
that has brought a rich tradition
in fine dining to the Metropol-
itan area. The menu also fea-
tures lighter dining fare as well
as noted Kingsley Inn standbys
that have continued to receive
much note throughout the
years. It is open Mon.-Sat. 11
a.m.-12 mid., Sun. 10 a.m.-10
p.m. The house specialty of
Sauteed Lake Perch is a
dandy.
Mati's Deli, 1842 Monroe,
Dearborn, 277-3253. How
many restaurants do you know
that make its own cream
cheese? This is indicative of the
homemade cooking by Louis
Weinstein at his Mati's Deli. The
former northwest deli gent who
owns the popular Dearbom deli
makes brownies also along
with a variety of salads, soups,
sandwiches, etc. in the 1926-
built building.
