9 Highlights Calendar Sinai Plans Health Check Friday and Saturday, November 12-13—Dr. Alfred Sinai Hospital will offer area families a series of free medical screenings at HealthCheck 1-4 p.m., Nov. 16 at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Com- munity Center. Sponsored by Sinai Hospital and the Jewish Community Center, HealthCheck will offer free health screenings conducted by Sinai physi- cians and nurses. Open to anyone 18 years of age or older, the screenings will include checks for blood pressure, lung capacity, cholesterol, hearing, vi- sion (including glaucoma), breast can- cer and foot care. Community Honors Joseph Antonini The leadership of the Detroit Jewish community honored Joseph Antonini at a reception at the home of Marlene and Paul Borman. Mr. Antonini, CEO of Kmart, was honored for his role in estab- lishing the Kmart International Center for Retailing and Mar- keting at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1989. Mr. Antonini was one of the first CEO's of a major American corporation to create an academic center in Israel and develop , links between the Hebrew University and one of the largest re- tailers. Harvey Krueger, chairman of the board of the American Friends of the hebrew University, was guest speaker at the reception.
