P'ninah Stein

BBYO Names
New Director

P'ninah Stein is the new assis-
tant director for Michigan Re-
gion BBYO. Ms. Stein received
her bachelor darts degree with
honors from Michigan State
University, with a major in re-
lational communications in
1991. Last year, she participat-
ed in Project Otzma, a post-
graduate volunteer social
service fellowship in Israel
Ms. Stein has a back-
ground in BBYO as well. She
served Machar BBG both as
membership vice president
and as president. She also
served as a chairman to the
BBG Council.
Her principal responsibili-
ties will include working with
BBG chapters in addition to
acting as BBG Council ad-
viser and working with BBG
Council officers.

Adat Shalom
Honors Shidents

First graders from the Adat
Shalom Religious School and
from Hillel Day School will be
honored at a Consecration Ser-
vice Nov. 13. The children will
be called to the bimah where
each will receive a gift form the
synagogue. The youngsters will
present a program of songs. A
kiddush in their honor will fol-
low.

Mark Holiday

The brotherhood of Temple
Beth El will mark the Thanks-
giving holiday with a blood dri-
ve 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 21 at the
Temple.
Early donors will receive a
complimentary breakfast at
9:30 a.m. provided by the broth-
erhood. Donors may schedule
an appointment; walk-ins are

The brotherhood's Great
Turkey Giveaway will provide
newly-arrived Jewish families
from the former Soviet Union
with a turkey and all the trim-
mings. An estimated 200 bas-
kets will be distributed.

Host Party

All young adults — single and
married — are invited to the
Jewish Federation Young Adult
Division's annual pre-Thanks-
giving party 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24
at the Birmingham Communi-
ty House, 380 Bates.
Dance music will be provided
by the band Intrigue, and at-
tendees will meet new people
and learn about Detroit.
The gathering will include
hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
