stitute of the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary in New York: to
restore the Israel Study Pro-
gram for students of the Can-
tors Institute, the other, to help
maintain the music library of
the Seminary.

Sets Conference

The Cantors Assembly of Amer-
ica will hold a cantors confer-
ence in Detroit for members of
the Tri-State, Chicago and
Toronto regions Nov. 15-16.
Workshops, master classes and
seminars will be offered. The
concluding event will be a can-
torial concert open to the gen-
eral at no charge Nov. 16 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
The conference will be
chaired by Cantor Chaim Naj-
man of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and Cantor Max Shi-
mansky of Congregation Beth
Achim. Sessions will be held at
several Conservative syna-
gogues in the Detroit area and
will be led by Dr. Sholom Kalib,
Rabbi Irwin Groner, Cantor Al-
berto Mizrahi, Cantor Ben-
jamin Maissner, Cantor Abe
Lubin and Cantor Samuel
Rosenbaum. ❑
