The Greater Detroit Mr. and
Mrs. Group for City of Hope Na-
tional Medical Center will host
a "Night of Games" 7-11 p.m.
Nov. 13 at the Ramada Hotel
(formerly Days Inn), 17017 W.
Nine Mile Road, Southfield. The
event, a celebration of City of
Hope's 80th Anniversary, will
feature bingo, an auction, cake
and coffee.
The "Night of Games" is one
in a series of special events
being held throughout the
United States to celebrate City
of Hope's 80th Birthday. At all
events, signatures will be col-
lected from volunteers and sup-
porters who make a donation.
These will ultimately be as-
sembled into the world's largest
birthday card and displayed at
the City of Hope in early 1994,
evidence of City of Hope's grass-
roots support.

Bais Chabad Torah Center will
host a lecture series on "The
Dos and Don'ts For The Newly
Observant" Wednesday nights,
7:30 p.m., at the Torah Center.
They will be led by Martin
Goodman and will focus on the
philosophical premise and prac-
tical implementation of those
commandments that tend to be
confusing for the newly obser-
vant.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
of the Torah Center will deliver
a lecture 8:15 p.m. Nov. 8 on
"When Is A Jew Permitted To
Be Deceptive." The lecture is
part of the Monday night series
on basic Judaism.
The Torah Center offers
classes on Talmud, Chumash
and commentaries for teen-
