now be more proactive in punishing rabbis, getting rabbis into therapy, and helping victims and institu- tions," said Rabbi Sher. The new rule that rabbis found guilty of misconduct will have their names publicized is an attempt to prevent coverups by the accused. Ms. Adler and several rabbis and therapists also argue that while rabbis and Christian clergy are often consulted as therapists, they do not have a psychologist's background and are therefore generally ill- equipped to function in that capacity.
