Three Picot prints over the bed feature sea-
side villages and a Tarkay lithograph hangs
over the dresser. Simple pinch-pleated drap-
ery in a taupe linen pull back to take in the
view.
The dressing room, with St Thomas taupe-
gray marble topping the taupe laminate cab-
inets, lead to his and her walk-in closets and
to the all-marble bathroom.
A large Palladium window with gray Plan-
tation shutters overlooks a whirlpool tub in In-
nocent Blush by Jacuzzi. A glass-enclosed
shower sits next to the tub. An Agam print
hangs to the side of the tub, near a paper col-
lage by Mary. A sculpture of a kneeling man,
doubling as a plant holder, sits on the tub deck.
Each of the children's rooms reflects its
owner. Fifteen-year-old Lainie, an aspiring
artist, created a Jerry Garcia sculpture that
hangs above her four-poster pine Shaker bed
with Amish-inspired quilt Eclectic and funky,
the room is what Daniels refers to as "a return
to Haight-Ashbury."
Twelve-year-old Josh's room features wood
bunk beds and dressers and Madonna and
Cindy Crawford posters on the wall. A `50s-
style Swaim Armchair, in a black and white
boomerang pattern looks ideal for relaxing.
"I like to have a big, comfortable chair in
every child's room I do," says Daniels.
A guest bedroom completes the upstairs.
`To build a great house," says Lubin, "you
must have a successful partnership between
the builder, interior designer, architect and
client" I found it easy to work on this house,"
says Daniels. "We're all on the same wave-
length. We put it all into perspective. These
aren't life-threatening decisions."
Absolutely," concurs Mary Epstein. "And
you can always make changes."
Not that anyone would ever want to. ❑
