seaside cottage overlooking a lake filled with wildflowers and
lilies. A house steeped in the Arts and Crafts tradition of the
early 20th century, with simple lines and emphasis on wood-

work. A `50s diner to hang out in.
Sound like a little village in Maine? No, it's a charming and

very sophisticated home in Bloomfield Hills, complete with

all of the high-tech gadgetry of today.
Designed by architects David Lubin and Dominick Tringali of Lu-

bin/Tringali Associates in Bloomfield Hills and built by John Mentag of

Mentag Development Corp. in Birmingham, Larry and Mary Epstein's

home on Wing Lake is a dream-come-true for the couple.

`The Epsteins were very specific," says David Lubin. 'They had this

house in mind, but they didn't know what the end result would look like."

"We always direct our clients to prevent mistakes, but we take their

ideas and enhance them to bring them up to everyone's level of expec-

tation," says Tringali.

Architects David Lubin and Dominick Tringali and interior
designer Richard Daniels create an Arts and Crafts-inspired
Mission-style home on Wing Lake.
