Michael Budman and Don
Green, former Detroiters
and owners of the Birm-
ingham store Roots, will
host a gala celebration this
evening. They will welcome
guests beginning at 5 p.m.
From 7 p.m. until midnight
there will be a midnight
madness sale, hayrides,
music and auction. The
public is invited to celebrate
this event, with some of the
proceeds donated to the Lou
and Esta Handler Foun-
dation, which provides day
camp scholarships to chil-
dren.

A new 51-member board of
directors has just taken
charge of the volunteer
committee of the Founders
Society. Lois Lesser of Bir-
mingham is chairman of the
six-member executive board.
