Ms. Bozyk, 79, became widely known to an American audience at her career's end for her portrayal of "Bubbie" in the 1988 film Crossing Delancey. .It was her first English-language role and her only film. Prior to coming to America in 1941, Ms. Bozyk was an actress of the Yiddish theater in Poland and, between 1939 and 1941, in Argentina. The cornier Reizl Librowska began her acting career in War- saw at the age of 5, first with her parents and later with ac- tor Max Bozyk, whom she married. The Bozyks fled the Nazis in 1939, going first to Argentina and two years later to New York. The Bozyks performed together for 37 years until 1970, when Max Bozyk died follow- ing a performance at New York's Town Hall.
