Here, Julie gave a helping hand to Jewish Federation Apartments resident Rose Schutzman. No question has drawn greater attention, nor aroused greater concern, in recent years than has the simple "Will my grandchildren be Jewish?" The issue of Jewish continuity drew increased attention following the Jewish Population Study. Thousands of people appeared to have no connec- tion to the Jewish community nor any interest in developing one. Recommendations were diverse -- and many of them led to action: Israel programs for teen-agers, reorganization of the community education system, increased funding for campus activities, adult edu- cation programs and family learning opportunities. Will all of this activity yield results? Our future depends on it. The teens of Project Discovery '93 spent a semester in Israel with funding from the United Jewish Foundaton. 9
