- NOW AND • • All the good things our community does for our people, at home and overseas, could not be accom- plished without financial resources. Without our annual appeal -- the Allied Jewish Campaign -- and the endowment funds that support special programs and services, we could not im- prove the quality of life for our families, or educate our children, or care for our aged. This was a banner year for both the Campaign and the Federated Endowment Fund. Thanks to the Campaign Challenge Fund, thousands of contribu- tors were motivated to increase their pledges, and many new contributors joined in for a final Cam- paign total of $26,950,000. TOP RIMMIPRIPIN The value of endowment funds grew this year to $95 million. Eighty-five new funds were created, enabling Federation and its agencies to extend their network of care. Federation is proud of its reputation for integrity and financial accountability, for efficiency and effec- tiveness in its operations. In followup to the Strate- gic Planning Committee recommendations, Federa- tion and the United Jewish Foundation are already streamlining operations with a view toward contain- ing costs while enhancing quality of services. • • • • • Left: Norman Pappas got a helping hand from his friends in the Youth Campaign on Super Sunday.
