Co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan De- troit, the mission is available to parents, children and grand- parents. It offers special events, such as planting trees in Israel, visiting Youth Aliyah villages and vocational retraining pro- grams, and meeting kibbutz- niks, soldiers and Israeli families. Included are special youth programs designed to meet the needs of children from age 7 to adult. While in Jerusalem, partici- pants will be briefed by gov- ernment leaders on key issues related to the peace process, the absorption of immigrants and Israel's economic needs. Mission-goers also will get an in-depth look at Israel today. They will visit new immigrants at absorption centers and learn about resettlement. The missions include round- trip air fare from New York, deluxe accommodations (dou- ble occupancy), transportation, guides, gratuities and most meals. Bar and bat mitzvah children of families participat- ing in the mission travel free.
