News Anchor Gives Talk Deborah Riemer, Israel televi- sion's first English news anchor, will be the keynote speaker at the Jewish Federation of Washtenaw County/United Jewish Appeal's Campaign '94 Women's Division event 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at the home of Barbara Perlman in Ann Arbor. Ms. Riemer will provide insight into how foreign jour- nalists cover Israel, obser- vations about how Israeli women are making inroads into traditionally male ca- reers and a special insider view on the current peace talks. Ms. Riemer has worked as a professional broadcast jour- nalist in Israel, reporting and producing for most of the ma- jor American networks. She is a former weekend news re- porter for CNN in Jerusalem, shot a segment for NBC's spe- cial broadcast on Israel's 40th anniversary, hosted the TV Magazine Show, "Vision Is- rael," for American cable markets and reported live from Israel for CBS radio in Boston. The Women's Division event is a major kick-off event for Campaign '94. Women pledge a minimum campaign gift of $150.
