Cheryl Chodun, from WXYZ-
TV Channel 7, will discuss 'The
Media's Responsibility to the
Public" 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Commu-
nity Center. Cheryl Chodun is
a graduate of WSU with dual
majors in speech and English.
She has won two Emmys —
one for a breaking news story
and the other for general excel-
lence in news reporting. Please
call Adult Services, 661-1000,
by Oct. 15 to reserve seats.
There is no charge for this pro-
gram, which will be sign inter-
preted for the hearing impaired.

Hebrew Classes
For Adults

Temple Emanu-El's Academy
For Adults will offer interme-
diate and advanced adult He-
brew 11 Monday evenings
beginning Oct. 4 with instruc-
tor Nitzana York.
Intermediate Hebrew will
meet 7-8 p.m. Those who have
learned the Alef-Bet and have
had an introduction to Basic
Prayerbook Hebrew can con-
tinue study of the Siddur.
Advanced Hebrew will meet
8-9 p.m. for students who have
mastered basic reading skills in
Hebrew and have basic knowl-
edge of conversation and gram-
mar. The curriculum will
integrate grammar and con-
versational Hebrew.
There is a tuition fee for each
course. Call 967-4023 to enroll.

Local Artist
Displays Work

Henry Friedman will display
his metal sculptures, dealing
with the Holocaust, at the First
Presbyterian Church of Dear-
born for two weeks starting Oct.
10.
He also will give a series of
lectures about the Holocaust. ❑
