Lisa Joy Nater and Jonathan
David Polk were married re-
cently at Temple Kol Ami in
West Bloomfield. Rabbi Ernst
Conrad officiated.
T ,isa is the mother of Charles
Abraham Nater and Andrew
Benjamin Nater, and the
daughter of Betty and Frank
Rath of Farmington Hills.
Jonathan is the son of Mrs.
Edith Polk of Southfield, and
the late Mr. Samuel Polk.
The bride was escorted to the
chupah by her eldest son,
Charles, and the groom was ac-
companied by Andrew. Both
boys participated in the cere-
mony.
Other members of the fam-
ily participating in the cere-
mony were Judy and Harvey
Blavin, sister and brother-in-
law of the bride, with sons
Jonathan and Freddie; Robin
and Annette Rath, brother and
sister-in-law of the bride, with
children, Timothy, Emily and
Kate; Richard and Eileen Polk,
the groom's brother and sister-
in-law, with children, Sam,
Brian, and Laura; and the
groom's sister, Donna Lipson,
with son Joshua.
After a honeymoon in Can-
ada, the couple and their family
will live in West Bloomfield.

Conservatives Resume
Lunch and Learn Series
The Conservative Movement
will begin its Thursday lunch
and learn Torah study 12:30
p.m. Oct. 21 at the Federation
Building. Participants will
study the weekly Torah portion,
using traditional and contem-
porary sources.
Sessions will be led by Rabbi
William Gershon from Shaarey
Zedek, Rabbi Elliot Pachter
from B'nai Moshe, Rabbi Aaron
Bergman, Beth Abraham Hil-
lel Moses and Hillel Day School
and other area rabbis and edu-
cators.
The lunch and learn group is
sponsored jointly by the Jewish
Theological Seminary, Michi-
gan Region United Synagogue
and the Michigan Region Rab-
binical Assembly.
There is no charge for the
class; lunch is available at a
charge at noon.
No prior background is re-
quired and each study session
is self contained. Participants
are encouraged to bring their
own chumash or favorite bibli-
cal commentary.
