"Evenings at the Kitchen
Table," for moms and their ba-
bies, birth through 15 months,
will take place Tuesdays, 7-8
p.m. Oct. 12-Dec. 7 at the Eu-
gene and Marcia Applebaum
Jewish Parenting Center. There
is a fee.
Elissa Rosenfeld will aid in
learning to understand why
children misbehave and specif-
ic techniques to help solve these
problems. Meetings will be
Mondays, 9-10:30 a.m. Oct. 4-
Nov. 22 or Thursdays, 7-8:30
p.m. Oct. 14-Dec. 9 (no class
Nov. 25) at the Parenting Cen-
ter. Parents of elementary
school aged children are invit-
ed to attend Sundays, 10-11:30
a.m. Oct. 3-Dec. 5 (no classes
Oct. 31 and Nov. 28) at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek. There
is a fee.
Roots and Wings will intro-
duce practical and effective
methods of building self-esteem
to make life with children eas-
ier and more rewarding. Ses-
sions will be Tuesdays, 9-10:30
a.m. Oct. 12-Dec. 7 or Thurs-
days, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Par-
enting Center. There is a fee.
Creative Grandparenting is
a course to offer easy-to-imple-
ment suggestions to establish
lasting connections between
grandparent and grandchild.
The group will meet Sunday,
10-11:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Par-
enting Center. There is a fee.
Going It Alone is a series for
newly single women to discuss
challenges. Meeting will be
Mondays 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 11-
Nov. 1 at the Parenting Center.

Dale Sparage will aid in dis-
covering the joys of appreciat-
ing and creating art in this class
for mom or dad and 3-5 year old
children. Painting, collage and

clay will be introduced. The
class will meet Tuesdays 6:45-
7:30 p.m. Oct. 12-Nov. 23 at the
Parenting Center. There is a
fee.
Rainbows — Living and
Dealing With Loss is a program
for children ages 5-16 and their
parents who are coping with the
changes due to separation, di-
vorce or death in a family. The
program is set for Tuesdays
6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 12-Dec. 7 at
the Parenting Center. There is
a fee.
The Kitchen Table is a morn-
ing session for moms and their
babies, birth through 15 months
which will meet for babies birth-
crawling from 9-10:30 a.m. and
babies crawling-15 months from
11-12:30 p.m. on Thursdays,
Oct. 14-Dec. 9 (no class Nov. 25)
at the Parenting Center. There
is a fee.

Class Set
For Volunteers

"Volunteer For Success," a class
for adults who have been ap-
pointed, elected, induced or in-
spired to volunteer, will be
taught by Beth Robinson 9:30-
11:30 a.m. October 3, 10, 17 at
Temple Emanu-El.
Through a series of discus-
sions and exercises, participants
will develop individual skills
such as planning and publiciz-
ing events and volunteer re-
cruitment.
There is a tuition fee, and
bagels and coffee will be served.
