"IF I FORGET THEE, 0 JERUSALEM ..."

While praising the agreement before leaving Tunis for Wash-
ington, PLO CHAIRMAN YASSER ARAFAT said that it would pave
the way to "an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as
its capital."

ISRAEL'S PRIME MINISTER YITZHAK RABIN responded: "He
can forget about it. JERUSALEM WILL REMAIN ALWAYS UNDER
ISRAEL'S SOVEREIGNTY AND OUR CAPITAL FOREVER."

On these days of Awe and Reckoning, it behooves every Jew and
friend of Israel to reaffirm this solemn pledge as an everlasting
commitment.

I wholeheartedly reaffirm the above pledge about Jerusalem.
