Adelman And Lieberman

Arthur Lieberman

The Professional Health
Division of Metro Detroit
State of Israel Bonds will
honor Dr. Susan Hershberg
Adelman and Dr. Arthur S.
Lieberman at a tribute din-
ner Oct. 5 at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. Drs.
Adelman and Lieberman
will receive the prestigious
Maimonides Award for their
support of Israel's economic
development.

Dr. Adelman is a pedi-
atric surgeon in private
practice at Children's and
Oakwood Hospitals, and a
clinical associate professor
of surgery, Wayne State
University School of
Medicine.
Dr. Adelman has served
as a member of the White
House Health Professional
Review Group. She is a past
president of the Michigan

State Medical Society and
the Wayne County Medical
Society. A Michigan dele-
gate to the American
Medical Society, she was
elected last year to the AMA
Council on Medical Service.
Editor of Detroit Medical
News, for over 10 years, she
also writes a monthly col-
umn for the American
Medical News. She is a
member of the American
Pediatric Surgical Assoc-
iation, Detroit Academy of
Surgery, Metropolitan Ped-
iatric Society and Detroit
Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Lieberman, a clinical
physician, is the president
of Macomb Medical Clinic,
P.C. in Sterling Heights and
is affiliated with Oakland
General and Beaumont hos-
pitals. He is also a clinical
assistant professor of family
practice, College of
Osteopathic Medicine,
Michigan State University.
Dr. Lieberman is involved
with the Intern/Resident
Training Program at
Oakland General Hospital,
where he also is a past
member of the Patient Care
and Utilization committees.
He is a member of the exec-
utive board of directors of
the Michigan Osteopathic
College Foundation and the
past medical director of
SKYHIGH, Inc., a sub-
stance abuse and detox pro-
gram. Dr. Lieberman is
affiliated with the Michigan
Cancer Society, Multiple
Sclerosis Association,
American Heart Association
and the Alzheimer's Society.

Dr. Burt Faudem, former Detroiter and director of the Jerusalem
Division of the Israel Association of Baseball, presented Bill Serman
with a plaque signifying the establishment of a new team of 10-12 year
old Little Leaguers in Jerusalem. The team will be equipped and
clothed by the local committee of the American Friends of Israel
Association of Baseball. Shown are Irwin Cohen, Bill Serman, Burt
Faudem and Dave Dombey.

Blanchard Speaks
At JNF Dinner

The Honorable James J.
Blanchard, U.S. Amba-
ssador to Canada, will be
the speaker at the Jewish
National Fund Tree of Life
Award Dinner honoring
Anthony M. Franco Oct. 14
at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Mr. Blanchard was gover-
nor of Michigan for eight
years following four terms
as a member of the United
States Congress. during the
1992 presidential election,
Governor Blanchard was
chairman of the Clinton
Campaign in Michigan,
orchestrating President
Clinton's success primary
and general election efforts
in the state.

reception at the home of Dr. Richard and Sharon Brown. The event
was a prelude to the Metro Detroit Israel Bonds Professional Health
Division Tribute Dinner, to be held October 5 at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. Shown at the reception are Dr. Harris Mainster, Dr. Richard
