"A Male Perspective on
Female Issues in America
and Israel" will be presented
by Fred Dobb, a Wexner
Fellow at the Reconstruc-
tionist Rabbinical College, at
the Food for Thought
breakfast 9:30 a.m. Sept. 28
at Knollwood Country Club
sponsored by the Jewish
Federation Women's Division.
Mr. Dobb, who will address
the status of Jewish women in
both the United States and
Israel, is conducting research
on the birth of the modern
Jewish feminist movement in
the early 1970s.
He spent 1990 as a Jewish
environmental educator with
the Global Walk for the
Livable World, 1991 with the
Hornstein Program in Jewish
Communal Service and last
year at Machon Pardes in
Jerusalem. He has served on
the national board of B'nai
B'rith Hillel and spent two
summers as an intern with
Detroit's Jewish Community
Council as a Project JOIN
intern.
Food for Thought is a forum
to educate the participants on
important Jewish issues and
to reach out to women not yet
involved in Federation's
Women's Division.
Registration will begin at
9:30 a.m. with breakfast at
9:45. The program starts at
10:15 a.m.
Babysitting
will
be
available upon request for
children 2 1/2 years or older.
There is a charge for the
event, but there will be no
solicitation of gifts. For reser-

Hoenlein Speaks
At Luncheon
The Jewish Federation
Women's Division Ruby and
Lion of Judah sections will
host a luncheon on behalf of
the Allied Jewish Campaign
11 a.m. Sept. 13 at the home
of Meryl Podolsky.
Malcolm Hoenlein, ex-
ecutive vice-chairman of the
Conference of Presidents of
Major American Jewish
Organizations, the coor-
dinating body of interna-
tional Jewish concerns for
almost 50 national Jewish
organizations, will address
the gathering. The event is for
contributors of $5,000 or more
to the 1993 Campaign and
their daughters.

The speaker will be child
custody expert Richard S. Vic-
tor, of the Birmingham law
firm, Victor, Robbins &
Basset. He will discuss rights
of children and his most re-
cent case representing Jessica
DeBoer. Mr. Victor is the
founder/executive director of
the national Grandparents
Rights Organization and
former chair of the Family
Law Section of the State Bar
of Michigan.
