Selichot Event

Selichot services will be held at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
11:30 p.m. Sept. 11. The pre-
Selichot evening will begin at
9:30 p.m. with a buffet supper
for the entire Shaarey Zedek
and CSZ B'nai Israel mem-
bership. Admission is free but
advance reservations are neces-
sary.
Supper will be followed by a
musical program at 10:15 p.m.
featuring four Russian-born
artists who will perform a
program of Russian, Yiddish
and Israeli renditions, as well
as light operatic and classical
selections. The evenings enter-
tainment will be followed by
dessert and coffee.
Mezzo-soprano Rina Lekht-
man has sung with the Molda-
vian State Opera and in major
opera houses in Europe. A
graduate of the Moldavian
State Institute of Arts and
Rimsky Korsakov Music Col-
lege, Ms. Lekhtman completed
her post-graduate studies at
the Moscow Gnesin State Music
Institute.
Gennady Zut has performed
in solo recitals throughout the
former Soviet Union. He is
acclaimed as a balalaika player.
He has appeared with the
DSO and performed at the
National Balalaika Convention
in Philadelphia.
Admission to the musical
entertainment portion of the
evening and to the Selichot
service is free.

Rededicated

Congregation Shaarey Zedek
will rededicate the chapel at
Clover Hill Park Cemetery 1:30
p.m. Sept. 12. Three plaques
will be permanently placed in

died in combat and were
