Mimi Dunitz
Talks On Family

Mimi Dunitz, assistant regional
director of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega-
tions since 1991, will be the
speaker at Temple Israel
Sisterhood's opening luncheon
meeting of the 1993-1994
season noon Sept. 13 at the
temple.
Ms. Dunitz's subject will be
"The Jewish Family — New
Faces, New Memories." Ms.
Dunitz was named to the
position of outreach coordinator
for the Great Lakes Regions of
the UAHC in 1986. She
originated a drop-in center for
interfaith couples in the
Chicago area and teaches a six-
week class on Judaism. She
also assists congregations in
setting up outreach programs
for their congregants.
The luncheon is free to paid-
up sisterhood members; there
is a charge for guests. Reser-
vations may be made to the
temple office or to Ida Nemzin,
661-4112. Babysitting is
available.

ORT Plans
Opening Event

The Michigan Region of
Women's American ORT will
host its annual opening event
6:45 p.m. Sept. 7 at Embassy
Suites Hotel.
This year's event will feature
a Best-of-Michigan theme with
entertainment provided by the
Comic Opera Guild of Ann
Arbor. There is a charge. Call

and Broadway show tunes, will
feature Louise Lazarus, lyric
soprano, along with Ilya
Kazadayev, piano accompanist.

and soloist of the Melody
