Balfour Celebration

he Zionist Organiza-
tion of America (ZOA)
held a cocktail recep-
tion at the home of
Robert and Helaine Wolf
to announce the 60th annual
Balfour Celebration Con-
cert. Anne Gonte Silver,
president of Metro Detroit
ZOA, announced that the
concert is set for Monday,
Nov. 1, at the Fox Theatre
with a performance by Joel
Grey, a Tony and Academy
Award winning star.
Johanna Gordon and
Helaine Wolf are chairmen
of the Balfour Celebration
Committee. Some of the
ZOA committee members
include: Anne Brand,
Marge Kaufman, Pauline
Klein, Billie Kramer,
Sherman Shapiro,
Menachem Glaser,
Jerome Kaufman, Marion
Leib, Ezekiel Leikin, Max
Sosin and Lester Zeff.

MIDSUMMER DREAM

The recent 1993
"Midsummer Night's
Dream" to benefit multiple
sclerosis raised more than
$150,000. Some of the sup-
porters at the event includ-

ROEPER ARTFEST

The Roeper Invitational Art-
fest, an outdoor festival of
fine arts, will be held from
10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Aug. 28-
29 at Roeper's Bloomfield
Hills campus on Woodward,
just north of Long Lake
Road.
This is a juried show and
sale of original fine arts with
86 participating artists.
