Food, Supplies
Sent By Mazon

New York (JTA) — Several
Jewish groups are sending
desperately needed food and
medical supplies to the war-
torn areas of the former
Yugoslavia.
As part of a $50,000 grant,
Mazon: A Jewish Response
to Hunger recently sent
more than four tons of food
and medicine plus a supply
of firewood to the embattled
city of Sarajevo.
Funds are also being used
to provide medical supplies
to three pharmacies in Sara-
jevo operated by the Jewish
community and to the city's
hospital, according to Iso
Papo, president of the Sara-
jevo Jewish community.
While the relief supplies
are being distributed
primarily to members of the
Jewish community, Mr.
Papo said that "we have
been extending our support
to the others, regardless of
their religious or ethnic
identity."
Mazon is working in coop-
eration with the American
Jewish Joint Distribution
Committee and is also part
of a large ecumenical group
that includes Catholic,
Muslim and Jewish organ-
izations. All of the groups
are then funneling their con-
tributions to La Benevolen-
cija, a local organization.
Contributions can be sent
to Mazon at 2940 Westwood
Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
90064. For more informa-
tion, call 310-470-7769.
American Jewish World
Service, an international
development and relief
organization, is appealing to
the American Jewish com-
munity for funds to purchase
emergency medical supplies
to be distributed by the Jew-
ish community in Zagreb.
Medical facilities are
greatly in need of basic med-
icine and medical in-
struments, such as an-
tibiotics, insulin,
stethoscopes and bandages.
Contributions can be sent
to AJWS, Bosnia Relief
Fund, 15 W. 26th St., New
York, NY 10010.

This is what Zionism aims
at. To return to the Land and
within the Land to the soil;
to cure that nervous over-
strungness of exile and
dispersion; to liquidate the
racial inferiority complex
and breed a healthy, normal
earth-bound race of peas-
ants.

Discount Prices = Reduced Value

FREE, 20% off, $1 off, 3 for 2, etc. Many deals
are offered but the fact remains that dis-
counted prices are made possible only by dis-
counted services. Only by offering less can a
dry cleaner charge less. At MY Cleaners we
never discount our service.
