Mr. Kemp was a "guest
scholar" on the mission, ac-
companied by his wife.
"You are right," the am-
bassador responded.
Before the speech, Mr.
Basiouny seemed to dismiss
as insignificant the prob-
lems plaguing the Palestin-
ian delegation to the peace
talks, saying, "it's not im-
portant" to whom you talk,
"it's most important what
they are saying."

After the speech, the
members of the mission,
whose theme revolves
around prospects for peace,
crossed the Egyptian border
into Taba, the resort area
which Israel returned to
Egypt after years of negotia-
tions. There, they met with
Egyptian business
leaders. ❑
