Center and the Michigan
Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
will co-sponsor the seventh
annual Michigan Jewish
Sports Hall of Fame "Games"
Aug. 22 at Maple-Drake. The
Games provide a recrea-
tional/athletic experience for
Jewish children, teens and
adults with varying levels of
developmental disabilities.
The program will take place
throughout the day, starting
with opening ceremonies at
10 a.m. The athletes will par-
ticipate in track and field,
swimming and basketball
events.
The athletes will then
break for lunch, followed by a
Celebrity Half-Time exhibi-
tion, featuring Joe Dumars of
the Detroit Pistons.
In the evening there will be
an invitation-only closing
ceremony with awards,
featuring WXYZ Channel 7
reporter Cheryl Chodun,
followed by a dinner dance for
all participants, staff and
sponsors of the games.
