ters Seminar for women
Monday, Aug. 23, at the Max
M. Fisher Building. The sem-
inar will focus on personal
financial planning with an
eye toward helping the com-
munity.
Martin J. Satinsky, who
has provided tax and finan-
cial planning services to indi-
viduals and businesses for
more than 20 years, will
keynote the program, which
will start with continental
breakfast at 8:45 a.m.
The gathering, which is.
sponsored by the Federation,
will feature workshops on
planning for the woman on
her own, surviving as the
surviving spouse and plan-
ning as a family for the next
generation. They will be led
by Eileen Wasserman, who

new U.S. government-
supported fund that
could generate more
than a half billion dol-
lars of business investment
in Israel has moved one step
closer to reality.
Called the Israel Growth
Fund, this pool of money is
expected to help create jobs
and economic growth for
both the U.S. and Israel.
Approved by the Overseas
Private Investment Cor-
poration (OPIC), this Fund
will help Israel modernize
its economy, creating criti-
cally needed jobs for the
massive numbers of immi-
grants from the former
Soviet Union, Ethiopia, and
other parts of the world. The
announcement was crucial,
giving the green light to the
Fund's managers to begin

discussions with potential
fund investors.
"This is a major step for-
ward," said Ruth R. Harkin,
President of OPIC. "This
Fund will harness the ener-
gy of American business to
help the economies of both
the U.S. and Israel.
The Israel Growth Fund
enables investors to pool
their resources to provide
seed money for the startup
and expansion of businesses
in Israel. The Fund will pro-
vide the largest single
source of private capital
available for investment in
the Israeli private sector.
OPIC, a U. S. government
agency, helps American
businesses create jobs and
economic growth both at
home and abroad.
