The seventh annual Detroit
Festival of the Arts will end
the summer season Sept.
17-19 in the University
Cultural Center.
The three-day festival will
feature a juried artist
marketplace with more than
100 artisans displaying and
selling their work; three
music stages covering jazz,
blues, gospel, folk, rock and
R&B; a children's fair; a
festival food court, a poetry
festival; antiquarian book
fair; restoration trades fair
and other programs and
exhibits.
Admission is free. Hours are
11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and
Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6
p.m. on Sunday. The Univer-
sity Cultural Center area is
bounded by Ferry Street and
Warren Avenue on the north
and south and John R and
Anthony Wayne Drives (Se-
cond Avenue) on the east and
west.

Johnny Trudell Big Band in
