Steven Fish, newly elected
president of the Temple Beth
El Brotherhood, is entering
his 26th year of active par-
ticipation in the Reform
Jewish community. A past
president of Temple Beth
Jacob of Pontiac and of the
Metropolitan Detroit Federa-
tion of Reform Synagogues,
he also served on the national
board of the UAHC and on
the Northeast Lakes Council,
UAHC, Maintenance of
Union Membership Commit-
tee. Mr. Fish also has served
as president of the Michigan
Region of the American Soci-
ety of Travel Agents.
Also installed with Mr. Fish
were: Charles Mayer and Ar-
nold Garvin, vice presidents;
Lawrence Warren, Steven
Kohler, treasurers; Dr. Roy
Goodman and Byron Siegel,
secretaries.

Names New Pricipal

Congregation Beth Shalom's
religious school is accepting
registration for the 1993-1994
school year. Beth Shalom's
school is an independent Con-
servative religious school, of-
fering activities and classes
for children in kindergarten
through seventh grade.
Classes meet twice weekly:
9 a.m.-noon Sundays and 4-6
p.m. Wednesdays. A monthly
seminar is offered for youth in
grades eight to 11. The semi-
nars include dinner and
discussion topics relevant to
the students' interests. Bar
and bat mitzvah programs
and training also are avail-
able.
Junior Congregation ser-
vices for various grade levels
are held each Sabbath morn-
ing. In addition, Kadima and
United Synagogue Youth of-
fer activities for youngsters.
A children's choir, con-
ducted by Cantor Samuel
Greenbaum, participates in
both synagogue and com-
munity programs.
Shoshana Ben Ozer has
been named principal of the
Congregation Beth Shalom

religious school. She replaces
Cyril Servetter, who retired
recently after 20 years of
service.
A native Israeli, Mrs. Ben
Ozer has taught for nearly 25
years. She taught in Israel, at
Akiva Hebrew Day School,
Temple Beth El and Con-
gregation Beth Shalom.
Recently, she helped settle
new Americans in the Detroit
Jewish community.
