The JCC will host a trip to Grants Provide Programming Grants to promote visiting scholars, Jewish theater and the recording of local Jewish history in Jewish communi- ties outstate were approved by the Litvak Foundation Grant Committee of the Michigan Jewish Conference. The Flint Jewish communi- ty will receive $2,500 to fund a scholar in residence. The program will be held in con- junction with the communi- ties of Ann Arbor, Bay City and Lansing. A $1,250 grant was made to the Petoskey community to support an oral history pro- ject. The educational program will cover the Jewish history of all northern Michigan. The Grand Rapids Jewish community was awarded $2,500 to start a Jewish theater ensemble. The awards are part of a Litvak Foundation grant to the Michigan Jewish Con- ference for programming among member communities outside the metropolitan Detroit area. The Foundation encourages Jewish activities and pro- grams that reach beyond the borders of a single community in Michigan. Proposals should aim to enrich, support and build Jewish life.
