Scholarship

A scholarship to study at the
Hebrew University of Jeru-
salem was awarded by the
Harry and Sarah Laker Israel
Youth Scholarship Fund.
The 1993 winner of the
$2500 grant is Sheryl Katz-
man of Farmington Hills.
Sheryl will study at the
Hebrew University of Jeru-
salem. She is a Hebrew
teacher in Ann Arbor and has
studied at the Hebrew Acad-
emy of 'Baled°. Her affiliations
include the Hillel governing
board of the University of
Michigan.
The Harry and Sarah Laker
Israel Youth Scholarship, co-
sponsored by Congregation
Beth Achim, finances a stu-
dent each year for a full year
of study at a leading univer-
sity in Israel.

RACHEL TESSLER gradu-
ated from the dual degree
MA,MSW program at Colum-
bia and the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary and will assume
the position of assistant direc-
tor Camp Ramah-Poconos.

annual joint Department
Hospital Party at the Battle
Creek Veterans Administra-
tion Medical Center July 11.
A chartered bus will leave at
8 a.m.
A deli picnic lunch will be
served outdoors to the pa-
tients at noon. An orchestra
will entertain and gifts will
be given.
