Fact is, more Americans
may die by the fork than by
any other weapon. That's
because so many of them
use it irresponsibly. Like
to fill up on high-fat, high-
cholesterol foods. Foods
that can load the blood with
cholesterol, which can build
up plaque in their arteries,
increasing their risk of
heart attacks and threaten-
ing their lives. So next time
you pick up a fork, remem-
ber to handle it as you
would any other weapon.
For self-defense, not
self-destruction.

ISRAEL BONDS
The State of Israel Bonds
Women's Division Golda
Meir Club honored Meryl
Podolsky June 4, with the
1993 Aharon Bezalel
"ALIYAH" Award at the
home of David and Doreen
Hermelin. Ms. Podolsky
chaired the Metro Detroit
Women's Division for the
past four years. The event,
for puchasers of $5,000 or
more in State of Israel Se-
curities, was attended by 85
patrons.
"Meryl has set an incredi-
ble pace for us...she is, truly,
a deserving honoree," said
Rochelle Lieberman, new-
ly installed Detroit Women's
Division chairwoman.
"Our Women's Division
has been strengthened be-
cause of Meryl's leadership.
This award is a fitting rec-
ognition," said Sheldon
Goldman, general chair-
man of Israel Bonds in
Detroit.
Dr. Ruth Wisse, author,
journalist and first incum-
bent of the chair of Yiddish
Literature at Harvard Uni-
versity, was the guest
speaker. Some of the Israel
Bond supporters included:
Nancy Jacobson, Golda
Meir Club chairman; Bar-
