HELP DAD HAVE A WONDERFUL FATHER'S DAY THIS SUNDAY

(ALSO GREAT FOR GRADUATIONS, OUTDOOR PARTIES, BBQS, ETC.)

10 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to
11:30 p.m.; Saturday, 4 p.m. to
11:30 p.m.; Sunday, 4 p.m. to
9 p.m.
Seating is for 70 in a main-
floor dining room and 70
more upstairs with its brick
walls . . . There is also seating
for 16 in the downstairs
lounge sector.
Il Centro Ristorante is
another of our restaurants
owned by a working chef .. .
By no means is Joe a chef who
plays golf all day and lets
employees run his operation.
• Like so many that we can
pridefully say are in
Michigan, he "watches the
store" . . . and don't think
customers aren't aware of this
important relationship.
Joe Beato always did want
his own restaurant . . . And in
the short span of two years he
has already made the most of
it . . . Joe couldn't ask for
anything more than seeing so
many customers coming back
. . . This is the sweet kiss of
success in the restaurant
business today.

GREAT NORTHERN on
Orchard Lake Road is closed
. . . but will reopen again with

a new concept . . . It was
formerly a Sign of the Beef-
carver operation prior to
opening as Chuck Daly's and
West Bloomfield's Great Nor-
thern restaurant.
GET WELL WISHES ...

Crouse, Larry Coe, Jerry
Gerenraich, Larry Warren
and Jeffrey Strichartz . . .
with cocktail session of chop-
ped liver, potato puffs, ar-
tichoke hearts and little
franks . . . Dinner prepared
by the fellows had chicken
breast with herb stuffing, rice
pilaf, green peas and mush-
rooms almondine, lemon cake
and mixed green salad.
Renda Hertz served salad to
everyone at our table, not just
hubby Rabbi Richard Hertz —
Ada Glazer, wife of the late
Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer,
Elaine Schonberger, Milt and
Betty Jansky, Iz and Fran
Malin and Cantor Hirschen-
fang . . . Milt poured water for
all . . . Fran said, "I hope he
has enough film in here" as
she clicked the camera when
Iz didn't . . . At another table,
Marlene and Harvey Good-
man still celebrated their
25th anniversary and pre-
pared for a silver "second
honeymoon" in Hawaii.
Wonder if any of the Temple
Beth El Cusine Committee
members cook at home for
their wives?

WHEN RETIRED dental
doc Abe Pearlman was doing
the tooth-and-gum circuit he
played a lot of golf, 50 years
of hacking to be exact, and
never had a hole-in-one .. .
Abe filled a lot of cavities,
even two at the same time,
but not ever the hole-in-one
kind on a golf course.
Now he can brag . . . Abe
recently had two hole-in-one
fillings in a three-month
period . . . First was April 23
on the Cypress Gardens
150-yard 17th hole in Florida
. . . using a four iron while
playing with Sid Brand and
Gerry Steinberg.
His second cavity-closer ace
was June 4 on the 156-yard
eighth hole at Wabeek Coun-
try Club swinging a five iron
with Barney Hyman, Andy
Schlesinger and Jack
Perlman.
Two inside of three weeks
. . . and so many people like
Phyllis Tyner are still waiting
all these years for their first.

to Dave Burke, Audette sales
manager . . . recuperating at
home after heart bypass
surgery in Sinai Hospital.
THE TONE FOR a
heimishe informal evening
was set when Israeli songs
were mixed with "Down By
The Riverside" as the duo of
Cantor Gail Hirschenfang
and Rabbi Barry Diamond
did a bit for this year's in-
stallation dinner by Brother-
hood of Temple Beth El.
Some 110 attended as
Harvey Goodman did his
emcee stint and gave an "Un-
sung Hero" award to outgoing
president Izzy Malin . . . This
year's new president is Steven
Fish . . . The prestigious
Robert Rosenbush Award
given since 1977 to an
OUTDOOR SUMMER
outstanding Brotherhood
jazz in the Chuck Muer tradi-
member who distinguished
tion is at Big Fish on Town
himself in the qualities that

He started P'Jazz while at the
