New Coordinator
For Yad Ezra

Yad Ezra, an emergency
-kosher food pantry serving
local families in need, has
named Lea Luger as resource
development coordinator, a
part-time position. Her re-
sponsibilities include the
coordination of volunteers
and planning and implement-
ing community projects that
promote awareness and sup-
port of Yad Ezra.
Ms. Luger, a West Bloom-
field resident, has been an ac-
tive member of the Jewish
community since 1973 when
she completed an internship
with Project JOIN. The pro-
gram hired young adults
through Jewish Vocational
Service and placed them in
various Jewish community
service organizations. In re-
cent years she served as vice
president of the Young Israel
Council of Metropolitan
Detroit and was a volunteer
at Wellness Networks, Inc , an
AIDS health organization.
Ms. Luger spearheaded
clothing drives for Coalition
on Temporary Shelter
(COTS), My Sister's Place, a
shelter for abused women,
and Simon House, a shelter
for HIV positive women and
children.

Chapel Planned
For Inmates

Rabbi Herschel Finman,
director of Educational Out-
reach for Lubavitch Founda-
tion of Michigan, is organ-
izing a chapel for Jewish
inmates at the Macomb Cor-
rectional Facilities in New
Haven.
Rabbi Finman is asking the
Detroit Jewish Community to
help by contributing tal-
leisim, siddurim, chumashim.
All donations can be made
