Adat Shalom
Names Glantz
Cantor Howard Glantz has
been named Adat Shalom
Synagogue's cantor of the con-
gregation, after serving two
years as associate cantor.
Cantor Larry Vieder has
been named cantor emeritus.
A graduate of the Univer-
sity of Massachusetts and the
Jewish Theological Seminary,
Cantor Glantz holds bachelor
degrees in psychology and in
sacred music, as well as the
diploma of chazzan.
Cantor Glantz is a member
of the executive board of the
Cantors Assembly and of the
Cantors Institute Alumni
Association Advisory Board.
He is treasurer of the Cantors
Council of Detroit. He is
medically and ritually train-
ed to perform brit milah.
In his two years at Adat
Shalom, Cantor Glantz in-
stituted a mixed High Holy
Day Choir, a Youth Choir and
) an annual Adult Campfire.
He plays guitar for nursery
school children at weekly Fri-
day Shabbat services. Cantor
Glantz has also created a
Havdalah kit and audio tape
and has organized JEFF
Family Shabbat morning
services.

'Ibt Shabbat 9:30 a.m. June 5.
This service, with the theme
of "One Big Happy Family,"
honors all children who have
attended the temple nursery
school and kindergarten this
