Eli Katz, Professor, Sonoma State University, California
Max Rosenfeld, Teacher of Yiddish Culture, Gratz College, PA
The purpose of this seminar is to provide students with a sense of the
development stages of Yiddish literature - and the role this literature
played in the secular, as well as the religious culture of Ashkenazic
Jews throughout the centuries. Topics of discussion: The Origins of
Yiddish, The Early Centuries, The Classics (Mendele Peret, Sholom
Aleichem), Modern Yiddish Poetry, American Yiddish literature,
Isaac Bashevis Singer.

presently enrolled in the
F.R.E.E. collegiate program,
will enroll in the Ohr Tmim-
im program at Kfar Chabad,
Israel, for the summer.

Hills, has been accepted to
Hebrew Union College Rab-
binic school. Eric is a teacher
at Temple Israel and Temple
Beth El and is youth director
at Congregation Shir Tikva.

was graduated magna cum
laude from Brandeis Univer-
sity, where she was elected to
Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Waller
will be working in Washing-
ton, D.C.
