Chefs Elwin Greenwald, for-
merly of Elwin Tu Go, and
Dawn Clark, formerly of
Cuisine Courier, combine
European tradition with health-
ful eating.

Prices are modest — $4.75
for an order of mushroom
blintzes or chicken strudel in
phyllo pastry. Soups are sold
by the bowl, quart or pint —
$2.75, $4.25 and $7.50. A potato-
corn chowder is the house spe-
cialty.
For those riding the low-fat
bandwagon, try salads, sand-
wiches, hot entrees and baked
goods from the "(A Votre
Sante!! — To Your Health"
menu. Oatburgers ($3.95),
stuffed cabbage ($3.95), vege-
tarian chili ($2.75 per bowl)
and muffins ($.95) all boast
zero grams of fat, and are low
in cholesterol, salt and calories.
Tucked away in a tiny yellow
house between the offices dec-
orating Northwestern High-
way, Bonnie's Patisserie,
29229 Northwestern Hwy., 357-
4540, is a favorite of west-
siders.
Most orders require a six-
person minimum and 48 hours
advance notice, but it's worth
the extra effort.
The array at Bonnie's is vast
— two catering menus are
available, one for desserts and
appetizers, the other for
entrees, side dishes and trays.

son) and caesar salads ($2.25
per person) share space with
salmon en croute ($80 per
fish), wasabi shrimp salad

Cafe Catering, 32418 North-

more than a jam-packed lunch
spot.
Choose from two menus —
Vineyards Custom Catering or
Shirlee Bloom's Jewish cook-
ing.
Hearts, designating low cho-
lesterol, and check-marks, for
low fat, on the Vineyards menu
make health-conscious shop-
ping a snap. Middle-Eastern
salads like hummus ($5.99 lb.),
tabouli ($5.99 lb.) and fatoush
($4.99 lb.) are both, and are
ready to go out the door.
Custom trays are available
with 24-hour notice and a 10-
person minimum — try a veg-
etable crudite with spinach dip
($35 serves 10-15) or a gourmet
salad assortment served with
baguettes, croissants and petite
kaiser rolls ($6.99 per person.)
Shirlee Bloom's menu offers
more traditional staples like
sliced brisket ($5.99 per half
pound), baked salmon patties
($3.49 each) and potato pan-
cakes ($1.19 each). Full din-
ners of whitefish almondine
($10.50) and a half-baked chick-
en ($9.50) are complemented
with a garden salad, grilled veg-
etable, challah and a choice of
potatoes, farfel, kugel or rice
pilaf.
Deli ($7.95 per person), dairy
($8.95 per person), salad ($8.95
per person) and chicken ($5.99
per person) trays are an option
for parties of 10 or more.
So tan safely, drink moder-
ately and smile freely — the
